St. Louis Office Supports Second Annual Bike Program

StLouisBikes
As part of their continued support of underprivileged youth, employees in the St. Louis office participated in a bike donation event for the second year in a row. This year the office purchased 10 bikes through a local bike shop. Employee volunteers met at the shop on a Saturday morning to assemble the bikes and then deliver them to UrbanFUTURE, a non-profit organization in the City of St. Louis created to help urban youth see and believe in their possibilities. They are dedicated to the success of urban youth through character formation, academic growth, and career preparation utilizing a partnership of family, school, and community.

CH2M HILL’s Bikes Program began in 1999. Sharon N. challenged her co-workers to raise money to purchase 100 new bikes and helmets for local underprivileged children. Since 1999, the Atlanta office and staff have been steadfast in championing this program as an annual event, and have watched it grow to include several CH2M HILL offices across the United States, including Philadelphia, Montgomery, Austin, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, St. Louis and Jacksonville. Over the course of the decade-long, grassroots program, employees have raised more than $100,000 to purchase more than 2,000 bikes and helmets for children.
