Los Angeles Green Team

CH2M HILL's Los Angeles office started a Green Team at the beginning of 2005 and since then has participated in more than a dozen environmental cleanup projects. Our involvement emphasizes local organizations and communities that are pushing for substantial positive change in environmental awareness and quality. CH2M HILL supports three major events annually as well as several other ad hoc events. Our biggest annual event is the Coastal Clean Up Day, sponsored by the California Coastal Commission and the local organizer Heal the Bay. In partnership with volunteers from a local church, CH2M HILL sets up and runs the popular beach-front site. We've sponsored pit-stops in the annual Los Angeles River Bike ride and had teams of up to 6 riders covering distances of 25 to 100 miles. Annually we participate in the Great Los Angeles River Clean-Up sponsored by Friends of the Los Angeles River to clean up trash from the Los Angeles River and its tributaries. The LA River cuts right through the center of the City of Los Angeles, and is seeing a remarkable emergence from decades of being snubbed and disrespected.
