Introducing Anchorage students to drafting

anchorage
CH2M HILL's Anchorage office offers a paid drafting apprenticeship program for local high school students. The program introduces students with an interest in a drafting or engineering career to a multi -client, multi-discipline drafting environment. The program was initiated in 2006. High school students are nominated to participate by their career resource center or academic advisors. Interns work for four hours a day, five days a week under the advisement of a personal mentor who oversees their work and provides them with tasks. By the end of the summer, the participants possessed the skills to work on billable projects. Students also have opportunities to attend informative presentations led by CH2M HILL professionals, take field trips to various CH2M HILL job sites, and volunteer as part of an Intern Service Day.
