Girl Scouts participate in Clean It Up! Project

Washington DC2
As part of the Introduce a Girl to Engineering effort, an EWeek team from CH2M HILL's Washington, D.C. office visited Junior and Brownie Girl Scout troops in Round Hill, Virginia. After giving a presentation focused on engineering careers and water filtration, the volunteers broke the girls into teams to complete the Clean It Up! project to explore how water filtration systems work. Each team prepared its own filtration system using a 2-liter plastic bottle and various household filtration materials. "Allison really enjoyed last night, especially the experiment," said one parent. "She is extremely interested in science and last night was very worthwhile for her. It was super to have smart, intelligent and very nice young, professional women to influence her."
