CH2M HILL announces that Gareth Lifton, P.Eng., has been selected as the firm’s Global Leader for Asset Management. 

 

Gareth has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of utility management, including the development and implementation of utility policies, strategies and business plans, long-term capital programs and asset management/risk management methodologies, tools and techniques. As a CH2M HILL Senior Principal Management Consultant within the Utility Management Solutions practice, he has directed asset management assignments across North America and Europe.

Based in CH2M HILL’s Calgary office, Gareth is currently the lead asset management consultant for the cities of Calgary, Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Windsor and Ottawa, as well as Metro Vancouver, where he is assisting these clients with their comprehensive asset management programs.  Along with these and several other asset management projects, he is a director of the Canadian Network of Asset Managers, where he is the Chair of the Education, Research and Technical Committee.  Gareth is also serving on the Standards Council of Canada Advisory Committee for the new Asset Management ISO Standard.

 

Prior to joining CH2M HILL, Gareth held several management positions at Scottish Water (UK), where he was a member of the senior management team that successfully reduced operating costs by 40 percent (£170m) over a period of four years, while delivering a capital investment program with total savings of £500m.
